Early Years and Childcare Workforce Development Officer
Permanent
Grade C - £35,412 - £44,075
Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 36.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Grade C Early Years Workforce Development Officer to work within the Early Years and Childcare Service. You will be an experienced professional who has a secure understanding of early education, childcare policies, practices and the legislative framework.
In Birmingham, the Best Start in Life (BSiL) Strategy is a city-wide, five-year programme focused on improving outcomes for children from pre-conception to age five through a whole-system approach involving health, education, family hubs, early years providers, schools and community partners. The Workforce Development Officer will support this programme by aligning workforce development training, leadership and relational practice across all parts of the sector to develop a skilled, confident and connected workforce capable of delivering high-quality, relational and inclusive practice.
The post holder will support the Best Start workstream to deliver the following priorities;
- Recruitment and Retention
- Understanding workforce shortages, improving recruitment pathways, increasing diversity and strengthening retention across the early years sector.
