About the Role
The Workforce Planning Manager plays a crucial role in driving the organisation’s operational excellence and strategic initiatives. This individual is tasked with monitoring, controlling, forecasting, and informing business resourcing, ensuring alignment with the company’s core values and behaviours.
This role will be crucial in ensuring that the organisation has the right number of colleagues with the necessary skills to meet its current and future business objectives. By co-ordinating the collaboration of cross-functional teams, you will develop and implement data-driven strategies that support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

- Analyse workforce trends, forecast future staffing requirements, and turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.
- Work closely with the Client Office Leadership Team, the People function, Finance, and other key stakeholders to align workforce strategy with the wider direction of the business.
- Help identify gaps between current capability and future demand, then develop practical plans to address them.
- Lead the ongoing development of workforce planning tools, reporting, and performance measures, ensuring systems and forecasting approaches remain effective, relevant, and fit for the future.
- Use workforce analytics and forecasting to identify challenges, highlight opportunities, and develop practical solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
