Role Description
The Working Site Manager – Trade is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom, responsible for managing day-to-day operations on active construction and refit sites. This role oversees site activities, coordinates trades and subcontractors, and ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards. The Working Site Manager actively participates in hands-on trade work as needed, while supervising site personnel, organizing materials, and maintaining accurate records of progress and issues.

Daily responsibilities include:

- Conducting site briefings
- Enforcing health and safety procedures
- Liaising with clients and internal project teams
- Resolving operational challenges to keep projects running smoothly
The role also involves:
- Monitoring compliance with company policies
- Managing site documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement in site processes and workmanship
Qualifications
- Strong site management and supervision skills, including coordinating trades, overseeing daily operations, and managing site resources effectively.
- Hands-on trade experience in construction or related fields, with the ability to perform practical tasks alongside managing the site.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a track record of promoting safe working practices on-site.
- Proficient in communication and stakeholder management, including working with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Good planning and organizational abilities, including scheduling work, managing timelines, and maintaining accurate site documentation.
- Experience in commercial refits, groundworks, or general building contracts is highly beneficial.
- Relevant construction-related qualifications or certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, PASMA, and Fire marshal Training are required as a Minimum. NVQ, trade certifications are preferred.
- Ability to travel to various sites within the United Kingdom and work flexibly to meet project requirements.
