Workplace Curriculum Manager
The Workplace Curriculum Manager has overall management responsibility for the workplace coaching of the AMRC Training Centre’s apprentices.
You will be accountable for ensuring that workplace coaching at the AMRC Training Centre complies with the funding rules stipulated by funding bodies, and meets the requirements of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
You will be an active member of the Centre’s management team who are instrumental in shaping and influencing the Training Centre’s strategic direction.
You will devise objectives, plans and strategies to ensure that the AMRC Training Centre’s apprenticeship curricula in manufacturing and engineering are of the highest quality and meet the needs of manufacturing sectors, both regionally and nationally, employers and apprentices.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support a team of workplace coaches to provide high quality, compliant, tripartite reviews for engineering and manufacturing apprentices to support very high levels of apprentice achievement and completion on time.
- Plan workplace coach caseloads to align workplace coach expertise, programme level and employers.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers to align apprentices’ workplace progress and development with industry standards and Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
- Carry out compliant, high-quality, tripartite reviews with apprentices and their employers in the workplace.
- Lead and manage quality assurance activities to ensure that moderation and internal quality assurance is effective.
- Work with colleagues to develop new curricula, and improve existing curricula, to meet employer, industry and apprentice needs as well as those of regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to the development of the AMRC Training Centre’s quality of education through active participation and leadership in committees, working groups and development activities.
- Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that apprentices’ pastoral needs are met.
- Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post

Criteria
Essential
- An honours degree in engineering or manufacturing (or equivalent experience)
- Proven teaching ability, ideally with a teaching qualification.
- Level 3 award in assessing vocational achievement.
- Knowledge and experience of apprenticeships with a strong understanding of the requirements of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
- Ability to develop curricula and delivery plans for apprenticeships and commercial programmes.
- Experience of leading and managing teams.
- Ability to concurrently manage multiple work strands and projects, demonstrating strong skills for long term planning, organisation and education delivery.
- Excellent influencing, liaising and networking skills, including the ability to identify, influence and persuade key decision makers across an organisation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to analyse data, present high quality reports and complex information to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- A current UK driving licence.
