Workplace & General Affairs Professional

Our client is an established international organisation with a growing UK and European presence. They are looking for an experienced Workplace & General Affairs professional to provide interim support across a broad range of workplace, facilities, compliance and employee services.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied corporate environment and is comfortable taking ownership of multiple operational areas, working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day oversight across workplace operations, health & safety, facilities, sustainability initiatives and a range of general corporate services. The role will involve working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to ensure that the workplace remains safe, compliant, efficient and supportive for employees.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Support the development and maintenance of workplace health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate risk assessments, workplace inspections and follow-up actions.
  • Support the investigation and reporting of workplace incidents where required.
  • Coordinate relevant employee health & safety training.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day health & safety matters.

Workplace & Facilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the company's workplace environment.
  • Coordinate facilities providers, contractors and other external suppliers.
  • Manage workplace-related issues and ensure they are resolved efficiently.
  • Support office moves, changes and improvements where required.
  • Coordinate equipment and arrangements for hybrid and home-based employees.
  • Liaise with landlords, property managers and service providers as appropriate.
  • Ensure workplace arrangements meet appropriate health, safety and accessibility standards.

Sustainability & ESG

  • Support the organisation's sustainability and environmental initiatives.
  • Help coordinate activities relating to energy efficiency, waste reduction and responsible workplace practices.
  • Maintain relevant information and reporting.
  • Support employee initiatives relating to sustainable travel and workplace wellbeing.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to embed responsible business practices across the organisation.

Corporate Services

  • Coordinate business travel arrangements and support the ongoing development of travel procedures.
  • Manage relationships with selected external service providers.
  • Coordinate with external IT support providers to ensure employees receive an effective service.
  • Support employee onboarding and workplace-related requirements.
  • Assist with internal events, employee engagement initiatives and company activities.

Risk & Compliance

  • Support the maintenance of the company's operational risk register.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to identify and manage workplace and operational risks.
  • Track agreed actions and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Assist with reporting and communication of key risks to management.

Employee Wellbeing

  • Support initiatives designed to promote employee wellbeing and engagement.
  • Help coordinate wellbeing activities and internal programmes.
  • Work with internal and external partners to deliver relevant initiatives.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in a workplace, facilities, general affairs or corporate services environment.
  • Good understanding of UK workplace health & safety requirements.
  • Experience managing external suppliers and service providers.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of hybrid working environments would be advantageous.
  • H&S qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to sustainability, ESG or CSR initiatives would be advantageous.
