Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Workplace Interior Designer role based in Birmingham. The Workplace Interior Designer will be responsible for developing interior concepts for offices and commercial spaces, including space planning, workplace layouts, and design presentations aligned with client needs and brand identity. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients and stakeholders, conducting workplace assessments, preparing drawings and specifications, coordinating FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), and collaborating with project managers, architects, and contractors. The role involves producing detailed design documentation, ensuring that construction drawings are accurate and buildable, and supporting projects from concept through completion. The designer will also contribute to materials and product selection, sustainability considerations, and adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

- Strong skills in Interior Design and FF&E selection, including concept development, finishes, furniture, and fixtures appropriate for modern workplaces.
- Proficiency in Space Planning and workplace layouts to optimize functionality, comfort, and productivity in office and warehouse environments.
- Understanding of Architecture and Construction Drawings, with the ability to produce and interpret detailed plans, elevations, and specifications.
- Experience collaborating with construction and project management teams to deliver commercial interior projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site team environment.
- Formal qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; experience in commercial workplace design is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainable design principles is an advantage.
