Join Kerr and help shape workplaces that perform, persuade and inspire

At Kerr Office Group, we design and deliver workplaces where people and businesses thrive. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a commercially minded Workplace Interior Designer who enjoys variety, ownership, and being close to clients.

This role suits a confident designer who enjoys presenting ideas, influencing decision-makers, and holding creative conviction within a commercially driven, pitch-active role.

About the role

You will play a central role in both winning and delivering commercial office fit-out projects, working closely with our Senior Technical Designer.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Leading and contributing to design concepts from initial pitch through to project delivery
  • Creating compelling space plans, visuals, and presentation material that clearly sell a design narrative
  • Presenting confidently to clients, articulating design rationale, and responding to commercial and practical challenge
  • Owning the design story in pitches and proposals, working collaboratively with sales and marketing colleagues
  • Developing coordinated design and technical packages that are accurate, compliant, and buildable
  • Applying working knowledge of UK building regulations within workplace environments
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Exploring and applying new tools, including AI, to support smarter design thinking and project efficiency

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a role for a designer who enjoys being visible, trusted, and influential, not just technically capable.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone who combines design quality with presence and judgement. You are likely to demonstrate:

  • Experience specifically in commercial office design and fit-out
  • Strong space planning and visual communication skills, with the ability to build client understanding and confidence in creative ideas.
  • Experience presenting pitches to clients and contributing to competitive tenders
  • Confidence guiding clients through options, trade-offs, and recommendations
  • Practical knowledge of UK building regulations relevant to workplace projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, with SketchUp or Revit as an advantage
  • A structured, organised approach to managing priorities and deadlines
  • Curiosity and openness to new tools, including AI, and how they can support commercial outcomes
  • Most importantly, you bring sound creative judgement. You listen carefully, balance ambition with budget, and make design decisions that are right for the client and the business.
