Sopra Steria Aerospace, Defence & Security (ADS)

We work with customers operating some of the UK's most complex and secure technology environments. Our teams bring together technical expertise, managed services and transformation capability to support critical Defence and National Security programmes.

We are looking for an experienced Workplace Managed Service Lead

You will take end-to-end ownership of a major Workplace Managed Service, bringing together service delivery, technical leadership, development and architectural direction.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity where you will be responsible for the overall direction, performance and continued development of the Workplace service. You will lead both operational and development teams, oversee the lifecycle of Workplace technologies and ensure services remain secure, resilient and aligned with evolving customer requirements.

Acting as the senior Sopra Steria representative for Workplace, you will work closely with customer stakeholders, enterprise architects, engineering teams, delivery leaders and suppliers. You will need the technical credibility to challenge decisions, the leadership experience to bring teams together and the commercial awareness to balance service quality, innovation and delivery commitments.

The role requires someone who understands Workplace technologies at a technical level but is equally comfortable taking a broader view of service ownership, customer relationships and future service development.

Due to the nature of the programme, candidates must currently hold active MoD DV clearance and be able to work on site full time.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the Workplace Managed Service end to end, taking ownership of service delivery, technical performance, lifecycle management and continuous improvement across both BAU and change.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Workplace service delivery, engineering and development teams, ensuring clear priorities, effective collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for Workplace services, building trusted relationships with customers, senior technical stakeholders, architects, delivery leaders, partners and suppliers.
  • Oversee the development and evolution of Workplace technologies, including desktop operating systems, virtual desktop environments, software delivery, automation and associated end-user services.
  • Provide technical and architectural leadership, influencing solution design, technical standards, governance and future Workplace strategy while ensuring alignment with security and customer requirements.
  • Own service performance, risk and escalation management, driving the resolution of complex issues while balancing operational priorities, commercial commitments and opportunities for service improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
