Workplace Project Manager

Location: Central London (Hybrid)
Salary: £90,000
Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Workplace Project Manager to lead a major workplace transformation and office relocation programme for a well established London charity.

Working client side, you will manage the programme from early strategy through to occupation of the new office, ensuring the charity’s people, operations and services remain fully supported throughout the transition.

The role will involve supporting the disposal of the current premises, leading the search and assessment of potential new offices, and overseeing the design, fit out and successful mobilisation of the new workplace. You will work closely with senior leaders, trustees, employees and external advisers, acting as the central point of coordination across all workstreams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong property and workplace project experience with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the workplace transformation and relocation programme from initial strategy through to completion, ensuring delivery to agreed budget, timescales and quality standards.
• Develop and manage a detailed project plan covering property, design, fit out, technology, operational readiness, communications and change management.
• Support the disposal or exit of the current office premises, working with agents, solicitors and other professional advisers.
• Lead the search, evaluation and selection of a suitable new office location.
• Coordinate feasibility studies, building surveys, due diligence and commercial assessments.
• Manage relationships with landlords, property agents, surveyors, legal advisers, workplace consultants, architects, designers and contractors.
• Oversee workplace design, space planning, fit out, furniture, technology requirements and move logistics.
• Act as the key client side contact for senior leadership, staff, trustees and external suppliers.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure colleagues are engaged and informed throughout the programme.
• Develop and deliver a clear employee communication and change management plan.
• Manage project budgets, procurement activity, reporting and financial controls.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate risks, ensuring appropriate governance and escalation arrangements are in place.
• Develop and implement a move and business continuity plan to minimise disruption to the charity’s services.
• Ensure all relevant health and safety, statutory, accessibility and compliance requirements are met.
• Prepare clear progress reports, recommendations and presentations for senior leadership and project boards.
