Pontoon Dock, Newham, East London, UK

Talented people are the key to our success.

We are seeking an experienced and initiative-taking Works Manager to lead the on-site delivery of the Pontoon Dock Scheme for a major Transport for London (Docklands Light Railway) project.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly secured rail infrastructure project and play a pivotal role in its successful delivery. As a senior member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

The role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with the client, drive collaborative ways of working and contribute to the successful delivery of a high-profile transport infrastructure project.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the safe delivery of all on-site construction activities.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project programme, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners to achieve project objectives.
  • Drive a positive health, safety, environmental and quality culture across the project.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and relevant industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery and effective communication.
  • Manage site resources, logistics and operational activities to maximise productivity and performance.
  • Support project planning activities and contribute to successful project mobilisation and execution.
  • Ensure all project records, reporting requirements and construction documentation are maintained accurately.
  • Promote continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
