One of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors, working across a number of sectors including; transport, highways, water, energy and telecommunications.
Your new role
Works Manager required to support the delivery of a portfolio of highways and infrastructure improvement schemes across Bedfordshire. Working within a busy maintenance and construction environment, you will oversee the successful delivery of capital projects valued up to £500k, covering areas such as drainage, structures, active travel and local transport initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic project team delivering essential infrastructure improvements that enhance connectivity, safety and sustainability for local communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage operational resources to ensure the successful delivery of capital construction projects.
- Oversee health, safety, environmental and quality performance, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and project requirements.
- Work closely with the Programme Manager and client representatives to develop and deliver annual work programmes.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery phase of multiple schemes from planning through to completion.
- Monitor programme performance, budgets and resource allocation.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, supply chain partners and client teams.

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience managing operational construction resources on infrastructure or highways schemes.
- Experience delivering drainage, structures, active travel and local transport projects.
- NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
- SMSTS
- Relevant construction or project management qualifications.
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual requirements.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Asta and Confirm.
- AP61 Lift Planning qualification (preferred, but not essential)
