Workshop Cleaner – Luton
Location: Luton
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.18 per hour
Join Arriva and play an important role in keeping our workshop clean, safe, and well-organised. As a Workshop Cleaner, you'll help maintain a high standard of cleanliness across our engineering facilities, ensuring a safe and professional working environment for our teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining workshop floors, offices, welfare facilities, and communal areas.
- Clean and sanitise workshop equipment, tools, and machinery where required.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of waste in line with company procedures and environmental guidelines.
- Clean, replenish, and maintain toilets, washrooms, and changing facilities.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and safe working practices.
- Assist with the movement and organisation of workshop materials and parts when required.
- Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping across all assigned areas.

What We're Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally within an industrial, engineering, or workshop environment, is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of cleaning products and their safe use.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Physically capable of carrying out manual cleaning duties and lifting moderate loads where required.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
