Workshop Controller
Location: Stockport
Salary: £39,500 Basic £49,500 OTE + Overtime
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:00am-12:00pm, paid overtime)
Richard Abson Group are currently supporting a well-established main dealership in Stockport in their search for an experienced Workshop Controller.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, high-performing dealership where you will play a pivotal role in driving workshop efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
The Role
As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop on a day-to-day basis. You will allocate work effectively, manage technician workflow, and ensure all repairs and servicing are completed to the highest standard and within agreed timescales.

You will oversee a team of 22 Technicians and work closely with 7 Service Advisors to ensure excellent communication, strong workflow management, and a consistently high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the daily workload of Technicians to maximise efficiency
- Ensure all servicing and repair work is completed accurately and on time
- Support Service Advisors with technical input and customer updates
- Monitor workshop productivity, performance, and efficiency targets
- Accurately record Technician hours and workshop activity
- Produce technical reports and support repair recommendations
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction

The Package
- Basic Salary: £39,500
- On-Target Earnings: £49,500
- Monday-Friday working pattern
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (paid overtime)
- Overtime opportunities available
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, or Workshop Supervisor
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Experience within a main dealership environment is highly desirable
- Ability to manage a fast-paced workshop and motivate a large team
- Strong focus on efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
