Job Description:

We are looking for a hands-on, practically minded Workshop Engineer to join our busy engineering team in Ash Vale. This role is ideal for someone with solid mechanical and electrical skills, particularly those from a facilities maintenance or equipment-repair background, who enjoys problem-solving and working with a wide variety of machinery. As part of our workshop team, you’ll be involved in dismantling, diagnosing, rewinding, and reassembling electric motors, pumps, and air-handling equipment, ensuring that every piece of equipment leaving our workshop meets the high standards our clients rely on.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You’ll be working with experienced engineers who take pride in their craft, giving you the opportunity to develop specialist skills in motor rewinding, fault-finding, and precision mechanical work. No two days are the same—one day you may be stripping down a large industrial motor, the next you could be rebuilding a pump assembly or assisting with testing and quality checks. This is a physically active role that suits someone who enjoys practical, technical work and takes satisfaction in seeing a job through from start to finish.
