About This Role
Are you a Workshop Engineer, HGV Technician, Plant Engineer, MHE Engineer or Commercial Vehicle Technician looking for a fresh challenge? As a Workshop Engineer with Dawsongroup EMC in Brighouse, you will use your transferable engineering skills to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair a diverse specialist hire fleet, including municipal vehicles, road sweepers, refuse collection vehicles and other commercial equipment.
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs across our specialist fleet.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Prepare applicable vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections, helping keep our fleet safe, compliant and available.
- Identify defects, complete effective repairs and accurately record work, parts used and maintenance information.
- Work safely with workshop tools and equipment while helping maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop.
About You
Your experience could come from HGVs, commercial vehicles, plant, municipal equipment, forklifts, MHE or another specialist engineering environment. You do not need to have worked on road sweepers before, if you have strong practical engineering experience in servicing, diagnostics and repair, we are interested in the skills you can transfer to our fleet.
- Practical experience servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing vehicles, plant or specialist equipment.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
- A methodical approach to diagnostics, with the ability to identify faults and complete repairs to a high standard.
- A full UK driving licence is essential, while relevant engineering qualifications, vehicle inspection, PMI or MOT preparation experience would be advantageous.
- Experience with municipal vehicles or road sweepers is beneficial, not essential, relevant transferable engineering experience will be considered.
