Workshop Engineer (Industrial Pumps)

A well-established and reputable engineering company based in West Bromwich is looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Engineer with a background in industrial pumps. This is a great opportunity to join a busy, growing workshop with a strong reputation for quality and service.

The Role

As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and overhaul of a wide range of industrial pumps and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip, inspect, and rebuild a variety of industrial pumps (centrifugal, gear, etc.)
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
  • Replace components such as bearings, seals, and shafts
  • Carry out pressure testing and performance checks
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety
  • Maintain accurate service and inspection records

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with industrial pumps in a workshop environment
  • Strong mechanical engineering background
  • Experience with fault finding and equipment rebuilds
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment (desirable)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
