Workshop Manager

  • Based at our Eastbourne Depot – located at Stagecoach Workshop Eastbourne, Birch Road, Eastbourne, BN23 6PD
  • Annual salary - £50,000 - £54000
  • 40hrs per week

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Workshop Manager for our Eastbourne depot, supporting a fleet of over 60 vehicles.

What you’ll be doing

As Workshop Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring our fleet is clean, safe, and road-ready. Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and support a diverse team of skilled colleagues, including Engineers, Technicians, and Cleaners, creating a positive environment where people thrive.

  • Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable, and well-presented vehicles
  • Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities
  • Supporting team development, identifying training needs, and fostering continuous improvement
  • Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met
  • Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical, and bodywork knowledge
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive)
  • Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards
  • A people-centred approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment
