Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general upkeep, cleanliness, organisation, and maintenance of the store and warehouse areas.
  • Receive, inspect, process, and dispatch incoming and outgoing parcels and deliveries.
  • Operate forklifts safely and responsibly in accordance with company procedures, Health and Safety requirements, and relevant licensing requirements.

Main Duties and Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Pick and prepare spare parts required for the workshop and customer orders.
  • Conduct stocktaking and weekly cycle counts to ensure stock records remain accurate.
  • Ensure all spares, pumps, motors, and flow dividers are securely and appropriately packaged for transportation, including wrapping equipment in protective plastic where required.
  • Spray-paint completed units when specified within the relevant job requirements.
  • Apply specialist lubricating oil to all unpainted pumps, motors, and flow dividers as required.
  • Prepare and shred cardboard packaging for reuse as protective packing material.
  • Unpack and process all incoming shipments and packing cases from suppliers.
  • Maintain stock shelves in a clean, orderly, and fully stocked condition. Rotate stock appropriately by moving older stock forward and placing newer stock behind.
  • Maintain a safe and unobstructed warehouse environment in accordance with Health and Safety requirements, including ensuring packing cases and other materials are stored neatly and securely on the mezzanine floor.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify the Buying Department of shortages or low-stock items identified through stock record cards or routine stock checks.
  • Ensure all relevant details on waybills and dispatch documentation are accurate and complete for customer orders.
  • Operate forklift equipment in a safe, responsible, and professional manner and in full compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Carry out routine forklift maintenance checks, including checking engine oil, water, and battery water levels, and identifying and reporting any minor defects.
  • Complete daily Health and Safety checks and report any hazards, defects, or concerns promptly to management.
  • Work in accordance with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures, including maintaining clean, safe, and hygienic toilet, kitchen, and washing-up areas.
  • Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment provided by the Company is used correctly and consistently when carrying out duties.
