Workshop Supervisor

£50,000 - £60,000, West Mids

Monday-Friday days (45 hours per week) hands-on leadership role with occasional weekend flexibility required.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + pension + holidays + wider benefits.

This Workshop Supervisor job will suit:

  • An experienced HGV Technician, PSV Technician, Chargehand, Workshop Controller or Workshop Supervisor.
  • Someone with a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification (or similar).
  • A confident communicator capable of motivating technicians and maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Someone who understands workshop planning, compliance, quality inspections and vehicle availability.
  • PCV licence advantageous (or willingness to undertake further training where required).

The Workshop Supervisor role:

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the engineering workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Allocate planned maintenance, inspections, repairs and breakdown work across the engineering team.
  • Occasionally support with servicing, repairs, diagnostics and inspections alongside your team.
  • Perform quality inspections on completed work and ensure defects are rectified correctly.
  • Support vehicle availability by minimising downtime and ensuring fleet compliance.
  • Mentor, coach and develop engineering staff while promoting a positive team culture.
  • Maintain engineering records, support warranty administration and work closely with stores and operations teams.
  • Promote excellent Health & Safety standards and ensure compliance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
