Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum

Location: Alfreton

Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time (No Shift Pattern)

Annual Leave: 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and ensuring workshop operations run safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

As Workshop Supervisor, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day management of our workshop, ensuring equipment, assets, and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating, and developing a team of technicians and mechanics
  • Planning and coordinating workshop activities, repairs, and maintenance schedules
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Managing workshop resources, tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory
  • Monitoring productivity and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting water and wastewater treatment projects through effective workshop operations
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate service, maintenance, and inspection records
  • Collaborating with operational and project teams to meet business objectives

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive leader who can balance technical expertise with excellent people management skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar role
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and repair knowledge
  • Experience leading and developing technical teams
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • A positive, solution-focused approach
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality standards
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships

Experience within the water, wastewater, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, plant hire, utilities, or related sectors would be highly advantageous.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a workshop supervisor or similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance practices
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Experience in water, wastewater, or industrial environments preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications
