The Role

Dolmen Conservation & Joinery Ltd is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor / Senior Bench Joiner to take a leading, hands-on role within our specialist joinery workshop in Woodchurch, Kent.

We specialise in the conservation, repair and manufacture of bespoke joinery for historic and listed buildings, with projects including traditional timber windows, doors and architectural joinery.

This is not a volume-production role.

We are looking for an accomplished bench joiner who can confidently read technical drawings, set out and manufacture bespoke joinery independently, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and supervision of the workshop.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors and management team to programme work, manage workshop resources and ensure projects are delivered to the required quality and timescale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture bespoke timber windows, doors, frames and architectural joinery
  • Read, interpret and work independently from technical drawings and specifications
  • Set out and manufacture traditional joinery to a high standard
  • Machine and prepare hardwoods and softwoods
  • Undertake traditional mortice and tenon construction
  • Carry out repairs and conservation work to historic joinery
  • Manage the day-to-day organisation of the workshop
  • Programme and prioritise workshop workloads
  • Allocate and delegate work to joiners and apprentices
  • Monitor progress, workmanship and quality
  • Provide technical guidance to other workshop operatives
  • Assist management with estimating labour requirements and manufacturing timescales
  • Identify material and procurement requirements
  • Coordinate workshop production with wider project and site programmes
  • Maintain high standards of workshop health, safety and housekeeping
  • Assist with the training and development of junior joiners and apprentices

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
