WORKSHOP TEAM LEAD – WELDING & FABRICATION
TEXO Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Team Lead to join our client’s busy and growing workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Welder/Fabricator who is looking to take the next step in their career and move into a hands-on leadership position.
Working alongside the existing Workshop Team Lead and Project Delivery Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop, providing guidance and support to Welders and Fabricators, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
- Providing day-to-day support and guidance to Welders and Fabricators.
- Delivering on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring.
- Supporting competency reviews and employee development.
- Assisting with job planning, workload management and production priorities.
- Supporting quality checks and working closely with the QA/QC team.
- Assisting with inspections and NCRs.
- Taking a hands-on role in welding and fabrication activities.
- Ensuring production deadlines are achieved and work flows efficiently.
- Supporting the Project Delivery Manager with workload and employee management.
- Monitoring attendance and timekeeping and supporting return-to-work discussions.
- Providing constructive feedback around performance, conduct and attendance.
- Leading by example and maintaining a safe, productive and well-organised workshop.

What We're Looking For
- Time-served Welder/Fabricator with strong welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience within a workshop, manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, coaching or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of welding standards, fabrication processes and QA/QC requirements.
- Practical and hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Someone who enjoys supporting and developing others.
- Organised, dependable and able to take responsibility.
- Ability to deal with performance, attendance and conduct issues professionally.

Working Hours
The workshop operates between 6:00am and 6:00pm, so flexibility will be required to support operational and team coverage requirements.
Occasional adjustments to start and finish times may be required depending on business needs.
