Workshop Technician Opportunities
Engage Talent Partners are working with our Aberdeen-based clients to recruit for multiple Workshop Technician opportunities to join their existing teams.
Our clients specialise in subsea solutions, supporting customers across the oil and gas, renewable energy and defence sectors.
We are looking for technicians at different levels of experience, from more experienced Workshop Technicians through to junior candidates with a strong hands-on background and a willingness to learn. The roles involve manufacturing, assembling, soldering, preparing and testing specialist products within a workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working within a busy workshop environment, assembling and manufacturing electrical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
- Using engineering drawings, wiring schematics, job cards and assembly instructions to ensure products are built correctly and to specification.
- Carrying out soldering, wiring, splicing, crimping and electrical terminations on cables, connectors and assemblies.
- Preparing cables and components for termination, moulding and encapsulation.
- Assembling and manufacturing specialist connectors and associated components from individual parts.
- Carrying out testing and inspection of completed products, recording results accurately and completing the required paperwork.
- Working with fibre optic components and carrying out fibre optic termination where required.
- Supporting the moulding and encapsulation process, including the safe preparation and use of resins and other materials.

For the more experienced positions, we are looking for candidates with around two to three years’ experience in soldering and wiring of connectors and assemblies, along with the ability to understand technical drawings and wiring schematics.
As there are multiple opportunities available, our clients are also open to entry-level candidates who have gained practical soldering experience through college, an apprenticeship or relevant professional training and are keen to develop their skills within a hands-on technician environment.
