About the Role

£38,000 to £41,000 + overtime + discretionary company bonus + a ramp, a full bay and modern diagnostics

Eight bays in Wickford, behind the UK's utility fleets.

Plantexpand maintains the plant and vehicles behind the UK's water, power, gas and telecoms networks, working for national utilities, councils, government and operators of critical sites. Our eight bay workshop in Wickford takes the jobs that need a ramp and a full bay, so our mobile engineers can keep fixing first time out on the road. You'll work alongside our planning team and partner suppliers.

What you'll work on

  • Fleet vans and light commercial vehicles
  • Tail lifts

A typical day

  • First thing: start at 7:30am and pick up the day's scheduled jobs.
  • Through the day: services, safety inspections and larger repairs that need a ramp and a full bay, plus diagnostics on vans brought in from the road.
  • End of the day: finish your job reports and hand vehicles back ready for the road, finishing at 5pm.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
