STS Engine Services is hiring a Workshop & Warehouse Operative in Stansted, Essex, United Kingdom. This permanent position supports the daily operation of a busy jet engine workshop through aircraft engine handling, site upkeep, waste disposal, workshop housekeeping and general logistics support.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is organised, flexible and comfortable moving between workshop, warehouse, cleaning and equipment-handling responsibilities in a fast-paced aircraft engine maintenance environment.

- Employment Type: Permanent
- Working Hours: Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Salary Up To: £32,000
Position Overview
The Workshop & Warehouse Operative supports the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the STS Engine Services workshop.
This position is responsible for loading, unloading and moving aircraft engines, parts and tooling. Additional responsibilities include maintaining storage areas, supporting facilities upkeep, managing waste disposal and ensuring workshop and storage spaces remain clean, organised and properly maintained.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload aircraft engines from HGV vehicles
- Move aircraft engines throughout the site as required
- Transport aircraft engine parts and tooling
- Support aircraft engine receipt and dispatch activities
- Assist with daily workshop housekeeping
- Complete general facilities maintenance tasks as directed by Workshop Management
- Maintain storage areas
- Complete monthly inspections of engines held within controlled storage environments
- Assist with the control and disposal of waste products
- Follow company and environmental waste disposal regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop
- Help optimise workshop and storage space
- Complete site cleaning tasks when required
- Ensure work areas and storage areas remain clean and properly maintained
- Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers
- Support the general upkeep of company vehicles and equipment
- Operate company forklifts, towing equipment and road vehicles
- Perform other reasonable duties as instructed by senior management

Skills And Experience
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible approach to assigned duties
- Willingness to work across different areas of STS Engine Services
- Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective action
- Ability to recommend alternative solutions when required
- Full UK driving licence
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in a busy warehouse or workshop environment
- Previous aviation industry experience
- Forklift licence
Training will be provided on company computer systems and forklift operation when required.
