Job Title: Workwear Category & Sales Lead

Company Description

Heatons Group is one of the largest independently owned office products dealers in the UK, providing supplies and business services nationwide. Established in 1986 as a family-run company on the Wirral, the group has grown to over 130 team members across Merseyside, Cumbria, Cheshire, and Yorkshire.

Heatons are an industry leader with dedicated divisions spanning office products, workwear & PPE, interiors, print and design, promotional products, facilities management, and managed print services, positioning itself as a genuine extension of its customers' teams.

Role Description

We're looking for a Workwear Divisional Lead to take commercial ownership of Heatons' workwear and PPE offering and drive the growth of the division as an integrated part of the wider group. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Wirral, suited to someone with real depth in the category who can lead it strategically, shaping product and supplier strategy, spotting market opportunity, and building the proposition that sits alongside our other divisions.

You'll take the lead on workwear enquiries generated by our field-based BDM team, converting and growing those opportunities, while also proactively identifying and developing new business of your own. You'll set pricing and supplier strategy for the category, spot cross-sell opportunities across Heatons' wider portfolio, and act as the face of workwear both to customers and internally: the go-to person the BDM team brings opportunities to, and the one driving growth beyond what comes to you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll own:

  • Enquiry leadership. Taking the lead on workwear opportunities surfaced by our field BDM team and owning them through to close
  • New business development. Proactively identifying and developing opportunities of your own, not solely reliant on inbound
  • Strategic account growth. Spotting whitespace within existing Heatons customers and expanding workwear penetration
  • Category and supplier strategy. Product range, pricing position, and supplier relationships
  • Divisional visibility. Representing workwear at a senior level across the business and contributing to how the offering evolves and integrates with the group
  • Team and process. Supporting order accuracy, branding compliance, and delivery standards, though this isn't the core focus of the role

What we're looking for

  • A proven track record in workwear, uniforms, PPE or a closely related category, with genuine commercial results, not just product knowledge
  • Demonstrable new business/BD success: building pipeline, winning accounts, and growing revenue directly, not just supporting a sales process
  • Strategic thinking. Someone who can see the category as a business to grow, with ideas on positioning, supplier mix, and market opportunity
  • Strong senior-level communication and relationship-building skills, credible with decision-makers and comfortable operating with autonomy
  • B2B experience, ideally in workwear & PPE or related sectors
  • Comfortable with CRM/order systems, but not defined by admin. This is a sales and strategy-led role

Why this role

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership of a category rather than a slice of someone else's territory. You'll have the autonomy to shape how workwear is positioned and sold across the group, backed by an established BDM network feeding you opportunities, and the scope to build your own pipeline on top of that. For the right person, this is a chance to put their own stamp on a growing division within a well-established, independently owned business, with real influence over strategy rather than just execution
