WORLD WOMEN IS OPENING ITS FOUNDING PROFESSIONAL CIRCLE

As the Director of WORLD WOMEN and a psychologist, I stand firmly by this: my profession is to bring more happiness into people’s lives. Yes, psychologists do help bring happiness to people—not through empty promises or forced positivity, but by helping them understand their minds, reduce unnecessary suffering, change destructive patterns and build lives with greater meaning, freedom and connection.

The belief that happiness deserves serious attention is not merely sentimental.

In 2016, the United Arab Emirates gave this idea a formal place in government by appointing a Minister of State for Happiness—a role later expanded to include Wellbeing. Although it is no longer a separate ministerial portfolio, happiness and wellbeing remain part of the UAE’s national programmes and long-term government strategy.

The title changed, but the principle remained: Happiness can—and should—be treated as a matter of serious professional, social and public responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
