AVL Technical Director

40 Hours per week: Must be available evenings & weekends

Willingdon Church is looking for a full-time Technical Director (TD) passionate about implementing technology to create environments that engage and inspire people to worship and pursue a closer relationship with God.

The TD will be responsible for ensuring proper execution of all the technical components (Audio, Video, and Lighting) for all weekend services and events and overseeing all technical systems and teams at Willingdon Church.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Proper execution of all weekend services through excellent planning and operation of all technical components (Audio, Video, Lighting and Staging) related to weekend services and events
  • Overseeing and scheduling the technical support for all internal and external events
  • Ensuring all ministries can utilize technology efficiently and effectively during weekend services and internal/external events in all venues, classrooms and locations.
  • Recruiting, training, scheduling, and developing both volunteers and staff to manage the technical needs of the church
  • Working closely with the Worship Arts Pastor and Service Director to determine weekend and building/venue needs
  • Implementing upgrade plans for all production systems and scheduling cycles of maintenance on existing systems
  • Responsible for all venue equipment, inventory and maintenance

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in large church or venue
  • Experience leading teams of staff and volunteers
  • Experience managing technical requirements for large multi-use facilities and venues
  • Current understanding of the fusion of technology and worship
  • Audio mixing and processing
  • Broadcast video and media environments
  • Stage lighting operation and implementation
