Wound Clinic Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Tissue Viability and Wound Clinic Service as a Band 5 Registered Nurse.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and caring nurse to join our developing service. Whether you already have experience in wound care or are looking to expand your knowledge in this specialist area, we would love to hear from you. This is a unique opportunity to work within our dedicated wound clinics, providing assessment and treatment for patients with a wide range of wounds and lower limb conditions across Medway.

Working within our Tissue Viability and Wound Clinic Service, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, helping to promote healing, improve outcomes and enhance patients' quality of life.

You will work alongside experienced wound care clinicians and the multidisciplinary team, building your specialist knowledge and skills whilst contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

You will need to be flexible as the wound clinics operate 7 days a week.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based wound care within the Wound Clinic Service.

You Will

• Undertake holistic assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients with acute and chronic wounds.
• Deliver wound care in accordance with current national guidance, local policies and wound care formularies.
• Support the assessment and management of patients with a variety of wound types, including full lower limb and doppler assessments.
• Recognise changes in a patient's condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic patient records.
• Promote patient education, self-care and independence.
• Work collaboratively with the Tissue Viability Team and wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to maintaining safe, effective and patient-centred services.
• Participate in clinical supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.
• Support students, newly appointed staff and colleagues where appropriate.
• Participate in audits, service improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, organisational policies and clinical governance requirements.
• Contribute to the delivery of consistent, evidence-based wound care across the service.
