Wraparound Childcare Club Supervisor in Groombridge & Hartfield, near Royal Tunbridge Wells - Lead Your Own Club! 🌟

£14.71 per hour (permanent)
Location: Groombridge (TN3) and Hartfield (TN7), East Sussex, close to Royal Tunbridge Wells and around ten minutes' drive apart.
⚡ Immediate start available!

Our client is a growing wraparound childcare and holiday club provider working with primary schools across East and West Sussex, built around one simple belief: that wraparound care should be so much more than somewhere children go because their parents are working. They're looking for a Wraparound Childcare Club Supervisor to take genuine ownership of their breakfast and after school clubs in Groombridge and Hartfield (two positions), and shape them into places children look forward to every single day.

This isn't a supervising-from-the-sidelines role. It's yours to run. You'll lead your own team, decide how the space feels, and build the kind of relationships with children, families and schools that make a club somewhere children want to be, not just somewhere they have to be. Expect a real mix of child-led play and planned activities, from arts and crafts to team games and outdoor exploration, with an emphasis on giving every child, including those with SEN needs, a place where they can thrive.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

On offer is £14.71 per hour on a permanent basis, genuine ownership of your own clubs, and a supportive, ambitious team behind you as you grow into the role.

Working pattern:

  • Monday to Friday during school term-time, covering both breakfast club (7:30-9am) and after school club (3pm-6pm).
  • Full commitment to all sessions is required for this permanent position; this is not a flexible or ad-hoc opportunity.

Immediate start available, with September 2026 as the latest start date for the new academic year.

Key responsibilities:

  • Owning the clubs: Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of both the breakfast club and after school club at your school, leading a team of childcare workers with fairness and professionalism.
  • Shaping the experience: Plan and deliver a balance of child-led play and structured activities that feel genuinely engaging.
  • Championing inclusion: Help make sessions accessible and welcoming for all children, including those with SEN, working alongside the wider team's specialism in this area.
  • Safety and administration: Complete registers, accident and incident forms, and health and safety checks, and follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Building relationships: Communicate warmly and professionally with children, parents, schools, and colleagues, representing the clubs' reputation every day.

About you:

  • A natural leader: You're ready to take ownership of a team and a space, and comfortable being the one who makes things happen.
  • Genuinely passionate about children: You want to create a nurturing, fun and inclusive environment, not just supervise one.
  • Fully committed: You can commit to Monday to Friday, both breakfast and after school sessions.
  • A strong communicator: You build trust easily with children, parents, and school staff alike.
  • Able to drive: Due to the locations of the schools, driving is essential as public transport doesn't operate at all the required times.

What's in it for you:

  • Free childcare at the company's clubs for your own children during term-time and school holidays.
  • A supportive, friendly, and growing team where people are genuinely valued.
  • Training, support, and real opportunities to develop.
  • Permanent, term-time role with real ownership of your own clubs.

This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
