Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Writer role based in the London Area, United Kingdom for the 76th World Foundry Congress. The Writer will develop clear, engaging written materials for conference programs, session descriptions, speaker bios, press releases, web pages, and promotional content.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Drafting and revising copy
- Collaborating with organizers and technical experts to accurately represent foundry-related topics
- Ensuring consistency of tone and terminology across all materials
The Writer will also support internal communications, prepare post-event summaries and reports, and adapt content for multiple formats, including print, web, and social media.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced event environment, and maintaining high editorial standards.

- Strong professional writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience editing and proofreading documents to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Ability to research and synthesize complex information, especially in technical or industrial domains, into accessible written materials.
- Comfort collaborating with subject matter experts and event stakeholders to gather information and refine messaging.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines around an international event schedule.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working in cross-functional teams on-site.
- Proficiency with common office and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, shared document platforms); familiarity with content management or layout tools is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in professional writing.
- Prior experience writing for conferences, events, or technical industries is beneficial; interest in manufacturing, engineering, or foundry processes is a plus.
