Writers' Assistant

The Writers' Assistant supports the Head Writer, Showrunner and Producers in the smooth running of the writers' room, making sure ideas and discussions are recorded, organised and distributed.

You will be an extra pair of eyes across the writing process, able to foresee problems, flag them and help resolve them. This is an admin-heavy role where accurate note taking, version tracking and clear communication are crucial, combined with a real enthusiasm for comedy writing and the creative process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule the diary for the core creative team around writers' rooms, meetings and feedback sessions
• Manage the writing schedule and keep track of the writing team's deadlines
• Schedule meetings and reviews for the Head Writer, Showrunner, Supervising Director and production team
• Prepare the writers' room each day, including materials, food and drink
• Take notes in the room and in review sessions, then consolidate and distribute them to the relevant team
• Track script drafts and versions, and keep the series bible and story reference documents up to date
• Help the Head Writer and Producers track the animation scope in scripts, recording changes and making sure they are approved
• Co-ordinate travel and accommodation as required
• Provide general administrative support to the writing and production teams
