Job Title: WTG Transport & Installation (T&I) Engineer
Sector: Offshore Wind
Location: (UK based, remote with frequent travel to a Central Scotland office)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Contract (Inside IR35, via Umbrella) with possible extensions
Day Rate: £900 per day
Clearance Required: BPSS (DBS, financial probity, employment history checks), medical questionnaire, and proof of right to work in the UK
About the Role
We're working with a major offshore wind developer, seeking a WTG Transport & Installation (T&I) Engineer to join the Marine Team within the project's Turbine Package. Reporting to the Package Manager and T&I Engineering Lead, you'll act as the technical point of contact for all scopes relating to transport, marshalling and installation of the project's wind turbine generators.
You'll bring strong technical competence, good communication skills and relevant experience interfacing with a multidiscipline engineering team, turbine OEMs, vessel suppliers, T&I contractors and external consultants.

- Work with a high degree of autonomy, leading the technical aspects of the Transportation and Installation scope across the project lifecycle
- Analyse, recommend and optimise offshore installation and logistics concepts and methodologies from early design through to the offshore campaign
- Support key project tender activities, including development of technical requirements, evaluation of technical proposals and contract negotiations
- Review method statements and risk assessments, producing comments sheets
- Provide input to risk and programme analysis
- Respond to technical queries and interface with other packages/contractors to resolve queries
- Review engineering calculations and identify issues or risks to the project
- Liaise with the Marine Warranty Surveyor service to ensure the transport and installation methodology is approved
- Promote a strong, clear and positive health and safety culture
- Ensure compliance with offshore marine and lifting regulations
- Attend meetings and participate in required discussions at project, contractor and site offices as needed
- Deliver all technical tasks including documentation, reports, technical evaluations, specifications, alternatives assessments and site inspections as required
- Support HAZID/HAZOP reviews for load-out, transport and installation equipment design and offshore installation operations
- Contribute to continuous knowledge sharing, including maintaining an up-to-date Lessons Learnt register

Requirements
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
- Good project management expertise and understanding of major project delivery, including project set-up, planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management
- Reasonable understanding and experience of financial planning for capital projects
- Ability to challenge project teams and key stakeholders to ensure robust project performance
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and with key external stakeholders
- Ability to clearly present key messages at senior levels, both externally and internally
