Opticore IT Palo Alto Cortex Consultant
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Palo Alto Cortex Consultant to join a leading security client within the EMEA Technical Services to come and join the team. You'll join our excellent team for an initial 12 month contract with scope to extend, based in Central Europe
You'll be acting as the Subject Matter Expert for Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM. Leading the full delivery lifecycle of Cortex from deployment through to support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the technical implementation and deployment of Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSIAM across enterprise customer environments.
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for customers throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Work with customer security and infrastructure teams to understand existing SOC, SIEM, EDR, SOAR and threat intelligence capabilities.
- Design and implement XSIAM solutions aligned to customer security requirements and operational objectives.
- Lead migration from legacy SIEM and security platforms into Cortex XSIAM.
- Configure and onboard data sources, endpoints, applications, network infrastructure and security technologies into XSIAM.
- Develop and implement integrations with third-party security and IT platforms.
- Configure detection, analytics, automation, incident response and operational workflows.
- Help customers maximise the value of XSIAM's AI-driven detection, investigation and response capabilities.
- Support the development and optimisation of SOC processes and use cases.
- Provide technical leadership during customer workshops, design sessions and deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and act as an escalation point during deployments.
- Work closely with Palo Alto Networks and partner teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Produce technical documentation, deployment plans, configuration standards and operational handover documentation.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical enablement to customer security teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer security operations through automation, analytics and additional Cortex capabilities.
- Support multiple customer engagements across Spain and EMEA, managing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery.

What you'll bring:

- 8+ years' experience in customer-facing cybersecurity, security engineering or security operations roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience deploying and implementing Cortex XSIAM in enterprise environments.
- Strong practical experience with SIEM technologies, including architecture, implementation, data onboarding and use-case development.
- Strong understanding of SOC operations, Security Operations workflows and incident response.
- Proven experience leading technical engagements with enterprise customers.
- Experience translating business and security requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead deployments from initial discovery through to operationalisation.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, customer-facing environment.
- Fluent in Spanish and English
