xVA Java Technical Lead / Delivery Manager

6 Month Contract | London (1 Day Per Week Onsite) | Competitive Day Rate

We are supporting a major investment banking client on a strategic xVA pricing and regulatory programme, alongside the decommissioning of legacy platforms. As part of this initiative, we are seeking an experienced xVA Java Technical Lead / Delivery Manager who can combine strong technical leadership with proven delivery management experience.

This is a highly visible role, working across a global engineering team and engaging with senior stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of critical front-office and risk technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a distributed engineering team across London and India
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership within a Java-based xVA technology environment
  • Drive delivery across strategic xVA pricing, regulatory and platform decommissioning programmes
  • Work closely with business, risk and technology stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Oversee prioritisation, planning and execution of delivery activities
  • Support architecture, design and technical decision-making across the platform
  • Foster collaboration and high performance across geographically dispersed teams
  • Take ownership of delivery commitments, risks, dependencies and stakeholder communication

Team Structure

  • Team of approximately 16 professionals
  • 6 team members based in London
  • 10 team members based in India
  • Responsible for xVA pricing, regulatory calculations, project delivery and platform decommissioning

Required Experience

  • Proven experience leading technology teams within investment banking markets technology
  • Strong Java development background with the ability to remain technically hands-on
  • Extensive experience working within xVA, counterparty risk or derivatives pricing environments
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex regulatory, valuation or platform transformation programmes
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to operate effectively across both technical and leadership responsibilities
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments

Working Arrangements

  • London-based role
  • Hybrid working with 1 day per week onsite in London
  • Initial contract length: 6 months
  • Day rate dependent on experience
