Burgess Hill Transfer Station Yard Operative

  • 50 hrs per week, Mon-Fri 6:45-17:15.
  • £34,918.00 Per annum - £13.43 per hour

A Quick Look at the Role

You will assist in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the site, together with assistance to general public visiting the site. Also ensure that waste brought onto the site is segregated as much as possible for recycling. At all times adhering to Company policies and procedures including H&S, environmental and operational requirements.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • To assist in the safe, efficient and profitable operation by providing operative services together with interface with the general public
  • By serving the needs of the site operations in respect of operative services generally within (but not exclusive to) the following areas - picking and segregation of waste within the site and floor, cleaning of yard areas
  • Advise and assist centre users, to maximise segregation and recycling. Redirect commercial customers and portray the best corporate image
  • You must remain aware at all times of your responsibilities for your own H&S and for the H&S of those directly responsible to you and your work colleagues. You must ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn. Please refer to the H&S Policy for further details on your specific responsibility
  • You must adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures, including but not limited to, those specified in the Employee Handbook, H&S Policy, EMS System, IMS System and any financial systems
  • Apart from the duties summarised in your Role Profile, we retain the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work
