Salary
£14.99 per hour + £95 per week shift allowance + Monthly Tonnage Bonus + Annual Bonus
About the Role
We are looking for a yard operative to join our team at Premier Galvanizing Hull.
Your Day to Day
- Working with the yard supervisor, direct and coordinate the placement of goods in designated storage or processing areas.
- Ensure materials are stored in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Accurately weigh incoming goods and materials upon arrival at the yard.
- Verify that all weights meet expected values and report any discrepancies.
- General handling of steel products
- Communicate with transport teams and drivers to ensure efficient loading and minimal
- Work closely with the Yard, Production Planning, Sales and Production teams to align yard activities with factory and customer requirements.
- Provide clear and timely communication on work status and any potential delays or issues relating to yard activities.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines within the yard and factory premises.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure all equipment is safe and operational.
- Cleaning up the yard and ensuring it is up to company standards

What We Are Looking For
- Positive people with a can-do attitude.
- Someone who enjoys working in a manual environment where heavy lifting is part of the daily activities.
- Experience working on a weighbridge and with stock control
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or steel environment would be desirable but is not essential.
- Forklift truck licence is essential
