Job Description
We are looking for a Yard Operative to join our team at Rugby, on a full-time and permanent basis.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00-18:00
Salary: £30,223 per annum.
As a Vehicle Yard Operative you will be responsible for cleaning all Stobart vehicles at our Widnes depot, complying with Health & Safety regulations at all times. Keeping the wash area efficient and clean, ensuring that the high standards of Stobart are always upheld.
- Ensuring that all the Tractor & Trailer Units, and any other vehicles that enter the Vehicle Wash Area are washed to the instructed high standard of Eddie Stobart
- Making sure vehicles and trailers are constantly passing through the wash, whether being driven through by a member of staff or being fetched with the use of the allocated wash shunter
- Filling in all the correct documentation to ensure work has been achieved to this highest standard
- Keeping the wash area clean and tidy at all times. (Free from litter, dirt, grease etc.)
- Manning the vehicle wash, ensuring it is operational in your allocated shift pattern.
- Operating all equipment in line with Safe Systems of Work
- Completing daily checks to determine the condition of all the wash equipment and report any defects
- Ensuring that there are adequate chemical and consumables on site to be able to carry out all duties
- Storing all items i.e. Chemicals, Diesel etc. in the Wash area and plant room, ensuring that they are kept free of damage and clean and tidy at all times.

Qualifications
As the successful candidate, you will be organised and have a high level of commitment and motivation.
You will also:
- Have good attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a busy outdoor environment.
- Be comfortable carrying out administrative tasks and completing operational reports.
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Hold an FLT licence (desirable) or be willing to undertake relevant training.
- Experience in a yard, warehouse, transport, or logistics environment would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate
