Yard Supervisor
We are currently looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our team based at our Bristol Operation Centre, BS10 7SF.
You’ll be working from Monday to Friday, with no bank holiday working, so you’ll benefit from a great work-life balance and have more time to yourself.
Our Yard Operatives are a dedicated team that are crucial to our operation, who love working outside in all weathers and have a passion for vehicles and working with cars. This team consistently and promptly respond to customer requests and complete service orders to deadlines. They ensure that vehicles are stored and maintained in line with customer and company standards and operate a handheld device to showcase the vehicles in the best possible light.
The Yard Supervisor will work alongside the Yard Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the yard. This role will involve overseeing the day to day running of yard operations, working with the yard team to ensure productivity targets are met, performance is strong and all policies, procedures and health & safety regulations are adhered to.
Salary for this position is £35,436 per annum.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the yard including accepting, processing, receiving and storage of vehicles.
- Assists with coaching, developing, challenging, and supporting the Yard teams to succeed and grow.
- Ensure colleagues are always well informed, through effective communication.
- Works closely with the Office and Transport functions to enable efficient running of the overall facility.
- Ensures all who enter the yard comply with all company policies and procedures including all employees, members, sub-contractors, and designated drivers.
- Ensures excellent customer service is provided at all times, by all yard colleagues, displaying effective problem solving and decision-making skills in handling customer issues.
- Ensures all plant equipment is maintained, safe and compliant.
- Lead and motivate the different functions of the yard team.
- Trains and carries out all safety inductions to staff and any external visitors.
- Maintains a positive attitude and professional approach.
- Follows Health & Safety, Environmental Policies and Company guidelines, to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Effectively deputise for the Yard Manager in their absence.

What We Need From You
- At least two years’ experience in a supervisory / management role, ideally gained leading teams in excess of 20 colleagues to a high standard.
- Excellent people skills with a positive attitude.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and make “in the moment” decisions in an ever-changing environment.
- Computer literate, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Be able to role model to the team by living and demonstrating our core values.
