About The Role
Teach South seeks a Year 1 Teaching Assistant for a friendly, inclusive primary school in Peacehaven, easily reached by public transport. This full-time temporary post starts in September, paying £85–£95 daily. The successful applicant joins a Year 1 Teacher and another assistant, helping a large cohort in class and delivering targeted one-to-one support. Suited to someone with a solid Early Years or Key Stage 1 background, ideally including work with SEND pupils who need extra communication, learning or behavioural help. Key skills: patience, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability and a nurturing approach to young learners.

Full-Time | September Start
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Peacehaven, easily accessible by public transport, is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a Year 1 Teacher and another TA, supporting a large cohort of pupils both within the classroom and through targeted 1:1 support.
Ideal Candidate
The role would suit a TA with a strong background in Early Years/Key Stage 1 and ideally experience supporting children with SEND.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, including those requiring additional communication, learning, or behavioural support.
- The ability to support learning through class-based activities and individual interventions.
- A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff.

Role details
- Start Date: September 2nd
- Hours: Full-Time 8.30-3.30pm
- Location: Peacehaven (excellent public transport links)
