Year 5 Teacher
We are currently recruiting for a confident and committed Year 5 Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave at a welcoming primary school in Rochester.
This is a fixed-term contract, working 3 days per week, and would suit a teacher who is confident taking full ownership of their class and delivering high-quality teaching.
The Role
The successful Year 5 Teacher will have full responsibility for their class, including:
- Planning and preparing lessons across the curriculum
- Delivering engaging and effective teaching
- Managing the classroom and maintaining high expectations
- Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
- Differentiating work to meet individual needs
- Completing relevant planning, assessment and marking
- Working closely with school staff to ensure consistency throughout the maternity cover period
- Taking full day-to-day responsibility for the Year 5 class

Requirements
- QTS is required
- Previous primary teaching experience, ideally within Year 5/KS2
- Confident with independent planning and classroom management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Able to commit to 3 days per week
- Driver preferred due to the school's location
- Willing to commit to the duration of the fixed-term maternity cover
