We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and committed Year 6 Class Teacher to join our exceptional team at Wycombe Preparatory School. Could that be you?

About the Role:

Contract Type: 5 Days a week (8:30am to 5:00pm)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Start Date: September 2026

As our Year 6 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering an engaging and ambitious Key Stage 2 curriculum, preparing pupils for their next stage of education while ensuring they enjoy a positive and rewarding final year at Wycombe Prep.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner who can inspire pupils to achieve high standards whilst fostering independence, creativity and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. You will be committed to supporting the academic, social and emotional development of every child and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum.
  • Preparing pupils for transition to senior school and supporting them through this important stage of their educational journey.
  • Assessing, monitoring and reporting on pupil progress effectively.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils' personal development, wellbeing and confidence.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, events and school initiatives.
  • Upholding the school's high standards of teaching, learning, safeguarding and pastoral care.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective assessment practices.
  • The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire pupils of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, proactive and collaborative approach to school life.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
