Cape Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive primary school based in the heart of Smethwick. We pride ourselves on our wonderful staff, children and community. We are a ‘Good’ school in all areas in our most recent OFSTED inspection (June 23). Inspectors said that “Pupils are happy at Cape Primary School. They appreciate belonging to a community where they feel cared for and where their differences are celebrated. This is a place where everyone feels included. The ‘Cape Eight Values’ underpin the curriculum and pupils are proud of the rewards they receive for resilience, kindness and independent learning.”
One of our wonderful year 6 teachers is having a baby and so we need to appoint an equally wonderful person to teach her year 6 children whilst she is away.

Our School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references are therefore required for this role. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. Pre-employment checks will be carried out in line with KCSIE, including online checks.
