Year 6 Teacher - September 2026

1 day per week (flexible) | ASAP - Christmas

£130 - £180 per day depending on experience and qualifications

A friendly and supportive primary school in the Oldham area is seeking a Year 6 Teacher to join its team for one day per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing until Christmas. The school is ideally located for commuters, with excellent transport links from North Manchester, Rochdale, Tameside, Saddleworth and the surrounding Greater Manchester areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a flexible and rewarding role within a welcoming school community.

Year 6 Teacher - the role

  • Teaching a Year 6 class for one day per week from ASAP until Christmas
  • Planning and delivering engaging and inclusive Upper Key Stage 2 lessons
  • Supporting pupils with the Year 6 curriculum and preparing them for the transition to secondary school
  • Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school

Year 6 Teacher - requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Passion for creating engaging learning opportunities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Enthusiastic, committed and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Availability to work one day per week until Christmas
