Overview
As a Year-Out Landscape Architecture Student you will assist the Landscape Architects in the preparation and implementation of landscape projects and provide general technical assistance and office support to the Parks and Greenspaces Development Team.
You Will Be Expected To
- Produce base plans, sketch layouts, design details, plant schedules, specifications, and health and safety plans as required under the CDM Regulations.
- Prepare presentation drawings for Committees, Exhibitions and Public Meetings.
- Assist with site surveying and the recording of survey information.
- Assist in the recording of completed work on site and producing accurate “as completed” record drawings and schedules.
- Assist with general office support, photocopying, scanning and printing of images, documents and plans.
- Assist with the upkeep of technical and trade information and liaising with product suppliers.
- Assist with the arithmetical checking of minor works contracts, schedules of quantities, tenders, quotations, invoices and accounts.
- Complete weekly time sheets and maintaining awareness of the available fee budget for projects being undertaken.

You Will Be Required To Have
- a Degree in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent, mapped to the Landscape Institute’s Competency Framework.
- experience of working on projects to defined deadlines.
- good design, illustrative and graphic skills.
- good oral communication, written and numeracy skills.
- Computer Aided Design, word processing and e-mail skills.
- familiarity with IT graphic packages.
- a willingness to pursue further skills in computer aided design, IT graphics packages and similar
- a commitment to pursuing the Post-Graduate Diploma or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture/Design or equivalent
