About the Role
The Year Placements Officer will join the Careers and Employability Directorate at City St George’s, University of London, supporting undergraduate students to secure and thrive upon year placements. Working within the newly established Year Placements team, you will help deliver a consistently high-quality service to eligible students across the University, enabling them to understand the opportunity of doing a year placement, produce excellent applications to secure placements and maximise their experience on placement.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance and administrative support throughout the year placement lifecycle.
- Promote placement opportunities.
- Deliver workshops and events.
- Support students with applications and compliance processes.
- Maintain placement records.
- Engage with employers.
- Monitor student progress on placement.
- Work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to ensure an excellent student experience.
Requirements
- Experience delivering advice and guidance to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the UK student and graduate labour market.
- Confidence managing competing priorities.
- Ability to use data to inform service improvements.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

- Interviews are scheduled to take place from 9th November 2026.
