The Young Ambassadors
The Young Ambassadors, supported by England Golf and the Golf Foundation, is a group of young people dedicated to championing the game of golf.
The group are a voice of junior golf and contribute to the development of the game for future generations, adhering to the motto “Inclusive, Innovative, Inspiring.”
The purpose of the Young Ambassadors is to highlight the positive impact of young people in golf.

- Aged between 14 and 22 at point of application?
- An organised, enthusiastic and proactive individual?
- Have a passion for volunteering and have a desire to do more?
- A good communicator and enjoy sharing ideas with others?
- Wanting to make a change and support the development of junior golf for future generations?
- Wanting to inspire more young people to play and get involved in the game of golf?
You don’t need to be a good golfer or have played for long. It is important that you are a proactive individual and have a strong desire to share the thoughts and opinions of young people in the sport.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with people in golf to influence decisions based on young people’s views and opinions.
- Work towards Young Ambassador targets and track your involvement and contribution through individual journals.
- To provide feedback from your local community, golf clubs, counties, junior golfers and non-golfers.
- Help promote England Golf and Golf Foundation campaigns.
- Opportunity to get involved and volunteer at championships and events to develop your skills and inspire other young people to become golf volunteers.

As a Young Ambassadors You Are Expected To Contribute To 3 Areas That We Use To Promote Junior Golf, Young People And Change Perceptions. These Are
- Social Media - creating content for the young ambassadors’ social media channels and promoting the work of the young ambassadors.
- Print Media - Promoting good news stories in junior golf and sharing the thoughts of young people on topics that you are passionate about.
- Hero’s Handshake - celebrating the successes and contribution of other young people in golf who are making a difference to the future of the game.
Time Commitment
It is difficult to estimate, but you will be expected to contribute to projects and discussions monthly.
There Will Be Face To Face Meetings/training 3 Times Per Year As Well As Regular Virtual Meetings. It Is Expected That Young Ambassadors Will
- Attend a minimum of 2 in person meeting/training days
- Contribute to articles, creating digital content and attend Hero’s Handshake presentations where applicable
Meetings Have Already Been Prearranged And Are As Follows
- January 23 and 24 2027 - both days
- June 5, 2027 - 1 day meeting
- October 9, 2027 - 1 day meeting
There will also be virtual meetings throughout the year which will enable you to keep in touch, provide any updates and hear about future opportunities.

Young Ambassadors need to be able to carry out the role without creating unnecessary pressure or distracting you from other commitments, such as your volunteering, education, or personal life.
Young Ambassadors are asked to sign up to the programme for a minimum of 2 years with the option to extend to a 3rd year.
As a Young Ambassador you will get
- Training to fulfil the role and create a personal development plan.
- Briefed before any event or opportunity to support and answer any questions you may have.
- Food and travel expenses covered for certain activities and events.
- Young Ambassador uniform.
- The opportunity to network and work as part of a team of ambassadors, providing support for each other.
- Support to build your knowledge and experience to increase your employability.
- Access to the Young Ambassador Leadership Programme which is a CIMSPA accredited award designed to support your development during the programme.
