About the Role
Young People Support Worker | Warrington | Full Time
Ready to help young people build brighter futures? Join our Warrington team and support young people facing challenges such as homelessness, mental health difficulties, substance misuse or experience of the care system. You'll provide one-to-one and group support, develop tailored support plans, manage risk, and empower young people to achieve greater independence and resilience.
You will be someone with experience supporting vulnerable people, strong safeguarding awareness, and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships. You will be a proactive, compassionate, and motivated individual to make a real difference in the lives of these young people thereby unlocking their potentials and assist them to move forward with confidence.

Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role.
In this role (Key Deliverables)
- You will ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times including ensuring that Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures are followed as laid out in Depaul’s Policy and Procedures
- You will ensure the high quality of risk and needs assessments SMART outcomes based support plans and case files for all key clients
- You will ensure one-to one and group support opportunities occur within their accommodation aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with
- You will proactively lead on partnerships with local agencies including statutory teams, to support the well-being of Depaul clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols
- You will be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them
- You will involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in Depaul’s wider community programme of activities
- You will support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations, through facilitating the work of Depaul’s Community Programmes Team
- You will participate in a rota which may include unsocial hours and weekend working, including lone working
- You will attend training as appropriate to your development and support you in your role
- You will form an integral part of the team and as such attend team meetings when required
- You will have responsibilities as part of the team for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting
- You will have responsibility as a member of the team for preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in
- You will support and facilitate the work of the volunteers who add value to the work that we do
- You will ensure the accurate collection and recording of rent, charges and petty cash
- You will fully understand the requirements of the contract that apply to your service
- You will undertake further duties as commensurate to the role, in line with Depaul Policies and Procedures and as identified by your line manager

About You (What we are looking for from you – Person Specification)

- Experience of working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse or the care system
- A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Able to demonstrate clear understanding of Safeguarding requirements and procedures
- Commitment to working in a manner which promotes diversity and equality, ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity and no one suffers from discrimination
- Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others
- Personal and professional integrity
- High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain these
- Effective collaborative working
- Ability to effectively reflect on own practices for ongoing learning and development
