Young Person Quantity Surveying, Work Experience Placement – Coventry, 19th-22nd October 2026

Monday 19th - Thursday 22nd October (4-days)
Who it's for:
Young people aged 14–18 who are interested in gaining hands-on experience of the world of work and exploring future career opportunities.
This placement is ideal for those who are curious, willing to learn, and keen to build confidence in a professional environment. Whether you already have a career in mind or are still exploring your options, this is a great opportunity to try something new, develop key skills, and get a real insight into how teams work day to day.

What’s This All About?
Step into the world of Quantity Surveying and discover how major projects are planned, managed, and delivered successfully. During this placement, you'll gain an insight into how commercial teams help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
As this placement is designed to be flexible, your experience may vary depending on the projects and activities available during your visit. You might explore how project costs are estimated and managed, learn about budgeting and forecasting, or see how teams work with contractors, engineers, and project managers to deliver value for money.
Along the way, you'll gain an understanding of the commercial side of infrastructure and construction projects, exploring how decisions made during planning and delivery can impact costs, timelines, and project outcomes. You may have the opportunity to attend meetings, review project information, and learn how different teams collaborate to keep projects on track.
