Youth & Classroom Cover Specialist - The Wirral - September Start
Academics, a reputable education recruitment agency, is seeking an adaptable, confident, and resilient Youth & Classroom Cover Specialist for flexible daily cover, short-term, and long-term opportunities at supportive secondary schools across The Wirral.
This role is ideal for Youth Workers, Sports Coaches, Drama Instructors, Graduates, or experienced Cover Supervisors who excel at engaging young people. Role Overview
- Classroom Delivery: Step into secondary classrooms across The Wirral to supervise pupils, ensure work set by the absent teacher is completed, and maintain order.
- Youth Engagement: Use active listening, de-escalation, and positive behavior strategies to build rapport with young people and keep them focused on task.
- Flexibility: Work on your terms—choose between daily supply shifts or structured block placements that fit your availability.
- Inclusion & Support: Support students of varying abilities and backgrounds, creating an encouraging environment where everyone can learn.

Requirements
- Experience: Strong background working with young people (aged 11-16) in settings such as youth clubs, sports coaching, mentoring, behavior support, or classroom assistance.
- Key Skills: High emotional intelligence, confidence managing group dynamics, strong communication, and excellent de-escalation skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to step into different secondary school environments across The Wirral with energy and resilience.
- Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
